JEOL + IDES : Capturing TEM images within nano- and picoseconds

JEOL recently acquired all shares of Integrated Dynamic Electron Solutions Inc. (IDES), a specialist for tailor-made high-end attachments for transmission electron microscopes (TEM).

The combination of JEOL’s premium TEMs and the patented IDES solutions will support daily research and increase lab efficiency. IDES offers unique solutions to low dose applications, in-situ analysis and several technologies related to high speed electrostatic deflection and compressive sensing. These solutions can be integrated into a TEM to among other things minimize damage or perform TEM image acquisition at incredible speeds. In addition, many existing JEOL TEMs can now easily be upgraded to an ultrafast time-resolved TEM (UTEM or DTEM) and enable fantastic, dynamic micrographs with nanosecond to picosecond speeds without any resolution loss. Even capturing protein movements can become easy!
